Beer Mug Pull Apart Cake How To

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

I've done quite a few pull-apart cakes and was convinced they were only feasible for children... and then this order came along!  I love this idea of a beer mug celebrating three years in law school and now you can make it too!  Keep reading for step-by-step instructions how I made this fun cake!

First arrange your cupcakes on the board until you are satisfied with the configuration.  Make sure each cupcake is touching at least one other cupcake.

Next carefully lift up each cupcake and put a small amount of icing on the bottom.  Place the cupcake back in the desired position and press lightly to secure it to the board.

Ice all the cupcakes normally in the desired color and place it in the freezer for about 5 minutes.

When the cake comes out of the freezer the icing will be a little bit harder but still spreadable.  Use your spatula to spread the icing across all the cupcakes.

Once the icing is all spread out put it back in the freezer for about 30 minutes.  This will ensure all the gaps between each cupcake stays in place and doesn't fall through.

Finally, finish off the cake with any decorations and final touches.  Enjoy!
